IPA Self assembly

by Sundar Raj Krishnaswami

This video highlights how solvents influence self-assembly. It demonstrates the reversible self-assembly of C8S3 molecules, which are first dissolved in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and subsequently undergo self-assembly upon the addition of water. Gentle shaking of the mixture leads to the dissociation of the self-assembled species back into individual molecules.
